We are located on the northwest corner of Lexington Avenue and 24th Street in an area of Manhattan known as Gramercy Park, or Kips Bay, or Murray Hill, or Flatiron, even Rose Hill (yes, for historical, and other reasons, the immediate area of our building is having somewhat of an identity crisis....).

Regardless of the exact name of the area, it is a neighborhood that in recent years has seen amazing new developments and renewed interest. Many new residential buildings have recently been built in the neighborhood, in addition to several conversions of commercial spaces to residential spaces. Hand-in-hand with the addition of residential units to the area, many new restaurants/bars, and stores opened in the neighborhood.

Public transportation to and from the building is very convenient. The number 6 subway line station is only 2 blocks away from the building, and the N and R lines are 3 blocks away. In addition there are several bus lines right next to us. If you need more information on public transportation in New York please visit the MTA website.

Some of New York's most highly rated, and popular, restaurants are within a short walking distance from our building. Gramercy Tavern, Yama, Haru, Union Square Cafe, Casa Mono, Les Halles, 11 Madison, Sushi Samba, Blue Water Grill, Blue Smoke, Mesa Grill, and Artisinal - these are only a few of the amazing restaurants in the area. Almost any imaginable cuisine can be found within a few blocks of 50 Lex - American, Chinese, Italian, Afghani, Turkish, Japanese, Indian, Middle-Eastern, French, BBQ, and on and on. New York City is considered by many to be the culinary capital of the world, and we are located right in the center of it all.
Of course, if you are looking for more simple fare, that wouldn't be a problem as well. Many casual diners, pizza places, and fast food restaurants are around.

Our neighborhood is not only about food though. Only 2 blocks away is Madison Square Park (to those of you unfamiliar with New York City - this is not the famous Madison Square Garden - home to sporting and entertainment events). The park went through significant changes and renovations in the past few years and is now one of the most beautiful parks in Manhattan. It has a new playground for children, a central lawn where people can relax and sun bathe when the weather is nice, a "gourmet" kiosk, the Shake Shack, a dog run, and numerous benches. In addition to some permanent statues and fountains, there is also an arts program which showcases temporary outdoor art from around the world. During the spring and summer months there are several festivals and events that take place in the park. It is really a wonderful place to have in the neighborhood.

50 Lexington is close to several famous New York City landmarks: The Met Life Tower and building on the east side of Madison Square Park, the Flatiron building, and the New York Life building. Several blocks south of us is the famous Union Square which is surrounded by many stores, restaurants, and is host to the largest Farmers' Market in the city.

Shopping is always a popular activity in Manhattan, and our neighborhood is no different. In addition to smaller boutiques and specialty stores, in the last few years several big retail chains opened stores in the area. Home Depot opened its 2 first stores ever in Manhattan, one of them located in 23rd street. In addition there are branches of Best Buy, DSW Shoes, the GAP, Old Navy, the Container Store, Nordstrom Rack, Sephora, Bed Bath & Beyond and more, all conveniently located close to us.
And of course, 5th Avenue is nearby with many designer clothing stores such as Armani Exchange, Ann Taylor, Kenneth Cole, and more.

Living in 50 Lexington means being in one of the greatest locations in the city!
